Academics
Department of Mechanical Engineering
We cultivate Mechanical Engineers with both creative insight and strong practical skills.
--
Introduction
Mechanical engineering is a discipline that designs, analyzes, and controls various systems based on core foundational knowledge across engineering, including solid mechanics, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and dynamics. In recent years, its scope has expanded through convergence with AI, sensor technology, and big data, leading to advanced applications in smart manufacturing, autonomous driving, and robotics.
Our curriculum is structured into four tracks — Design & Materials, Thermal Fluids & Energy, Dynamics & Control, and Production & Automation — providing systematic training in key areas such as CAD/CAE, energy conversion and renewable energy technologies, robotics and autonomous control, sensor and actuator systems, smart factory operations, and 3D printing technologies. Alongside a strong theoretical foundation, the department emphasizes hands-on practice through laboratory work, project-based design courses, and industry-linked training. We foster talent equipped with creative problem-solving skills and collaborative competencies through programs such as Capstone Design and internships, pursuing a practical engineering education aligned with the demands of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
